Studio Hennie is an interdisciplinary practice working at the intersection of culture, institutions, and the built environment.

Founded by Allison Hennie, the studio draws from experience in architecture, urban design, anthropology, museum production, public art, and civic projects. The work explores how ideas take physical form through exhibitions, cultural initiatives, spatial interventions, research, and implementation.

Rather than focusing solely on design as an end product, the studio is interested in the broader systems that support cultural life: institutions, processes, collaborations, policies, and the material realities that shape how projects are realized and experienced. This perspective has been informed by work across museums, local government, public art programs, architectural practice, and community-based initiatives.

Studio Hennie approaches each project as both an act of inquiry and an act of making. Research, observation, and dialogue are treated as essential parts of the design process, helping to uncover the relationships between people, places, organizations, and the environments they inhabit.

Areas of interest include:

• Exhibitions and museums
• Public art and cultural projects
• Architecture and the built environment
• Design research and documentation
• Cultural infrastructure and institutional practice
• Community engagement and collaborative processes
• Creative production and implementation

The studio values thoughtful stewardship, material honesty, and responsible project development. Whether working on an exhibition, a cultural initiative, a public artwork, or a research project, the goal is to create work that is rigorous, practical, and responsive to its context.

Studio Hennie is based in Cleveland, Ohio.
